Earthquake Mitigation
At the onset of an earthquake, quick action to evacuate a building, or to take cover, is paramount - allowing at times only seconds. Survivor Alert is designed to maximize the warning times and minimize the time needed to react to a seismic event.
Survivor Alert Features
- Detects earthquake activity: Detects and reacts to earthquake activity at an intensity that is selected by the operator.
- Alerts people that dangerous earthquake activity is present: Upon detection of an earthquake, an audible alarm is sounded, allowing the occupant to take immediate action to evacuate the building or to take cover.
- Provides light to allow for quick evacuation: As the detector reacts to earthquake activity, a light is automatically turned on to illuminate the immediate area.
- Portable and lightweight, easily removed from wall mount: Should the occupant wish to evacuate during a power outage, or one that may be impending, the unit may be quickly snatched from the wall mount and used as a lantern to illuminate a path for escape.
- Functions as a beacon if one becomes entrapped: If an occupant becomes trapped due to building collapse, the alarm, as well as the light may be used as a beacon to guide rescuers to the trapped party. Each of the Survivor Alert's functions - detection, alarm, light, portability and ability to be used as a beacon, whether used seperately or in combination, make this device an excellent tool to mitigate the dangerous effects of an earthquake and other natural and man-made disasters including tornados, hurricanes, fires, floods and terrorist attacks.
